In the traditional village of Santiago Atitlan on the shore of Lake Atitlan, women wear huipiles (traditional blouses) and men wear calf-length pants embroidered with birds. We have taken bird guides and books to this village where embroiderers and tailors are eager to expand their bird repertoire!
These cotton coin purses are machine-embroidered by hand -- that is, the tailor moves the fabric by hand until the sewing machine needle. The machine is not programmed. Each coin purse is unique.
5” wide by 4” high, with second zippered pocket on back. Cloth colors include purple, blue, brown and olive green. Please note your color preferences and bird preferences in the memo section when you place your order. Thank you!
