Quetzal Ornament - Felt and Repurposed Traditional Fabric

PA-161

$19.00 USD

Click here to see more info about Escuela Puerta Abierta. We collaborate with this truly impressive innovative indigenous rural school in Santiago Atitlan. Mothers make the adorable felt ornaments, adding pieces of recycled traditional skirt fabric. That’s how they pay their children’s tuition! Handmade and Fairly Traded.

Felt, repurposed cotton traditional handwoven tube skirt fabric, some with mylar ("brilliante"), and polyester fiberfill.

Handmade, so no two are exactly alike.

The quetzal is the national bird of Guatemala. Come to Santiago Atitlan on Lake Atitlan, and go on a birding tour and see them!

7 1/2" x 3 1/2" x 1 1/2" with loop with 3" to 4" drop.

The design appears on both sides of the ornament.

Not appropriate for children under 3 years of age.
